Michael Perrault was born in 1986 in New Bern, North Carolina to Timothy (Salem, NH) and Sherri (Fall River, MA). Michael's father was an active-duty United States Marine stationed at Cherry Point, NC during this time.
Due to his father's military service and other factors, Michael lived in various places around the country, to include: Washington, Florida, Montana, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.
Throughout high school (2000-2004), Michael lived in Salem, New Hampshire with his father. In 2003, just as his father and both grandfathers did, Michael enlisted into the Marine Corps delayed entry program, and attended boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina the following year.
Michael and his wife Kelly were married in 2015 and have two special needs children, who are 7 and 5. Kelly is also a former Marine combat veteran (Iraq), serving from 2004-2009. She has a degree in History from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington and is currently attending school at Keene State College (Dean's List). She has prior work experience as an Applied Behavioral Analyst specializing in working with special needs families. She is a longtime runner and fitness enthusiast.
Michael serves as an Incorporator for the Cathedral of the Pines National War Memorial in Rindge, New Hampshire. He is currently looking for opportunities to serve a role in local government to make a positive difference to the community. Additionally, he is a member of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club.
Michael has an extensive history of volunteerism, serving dozens of nonprofit organizations, business, and causes in multiple countries. For these efforts, he was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
Michael has attended some college and is pursuing a degree with Southern New Hampshire University.

Following boot camp, Michael attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC and Aviation Supply School in Meridian, MS. His first duty station was Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 aboard Air Station New River. During this time, he served as an Aviation Supply Specialist, performing functions such as warehousing and accounting. He deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was meritoriously promoted to the ranks of Lance Corporal, Corporal, and Sergeant.
Michael was then assigned to the School of Infantry-East in Camp Geiger, NC to serve as a Marine Combat Instructor. He served additional billets as a martial arts instructor and combat marksmanship instructor-trainer. During this time, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Following this special duty, he was assigned unaccompanied orders to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36 in Futenma, Okinawa, again serving as an Aviation Supply Specialist. He then transferred back to MALS-26 in New River, NC where he served in various leadership roles. During this time, he deployed aboard the USS America as part of a Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force and was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
Michael was then assigned to 6th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division aboard Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as a Civil-Military Operations Planner and Training Chief. In 2017, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of the Train, Advise, and Assist mission of Task Force Southwest where he served as the Combined Joint Operations Center Watch Chief and Senior Enlisted Advisor to Camp Bost in Lashkar Gah, Helmand Province.
He was then transferred to the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command aboard Norfolk, VA where he served as a Fleet Support Liaison until he was selected to the rank of First Sergeant and transferred to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines aboard Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader for Company A and Headquarters and Service Company. During this time, he deployed to Okinawa, Japan as part of a Unit Deployment Program.
Due to his performance at 1st Battalion, Michael was then hand selected to serve as the 6th Marine Regiment, Headquarters Company Unit Senior Enlisted Leader. He participated in various exercises and events to include the 104th Anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood ceremony at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetary in Belleau, France alongside elements from the French and German militaries.
In late 2022, Michael was selected to rank of Sergeant Major, the military's highest enlisted rank, and was assigned orders to 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment aboard Fort Devens, MA where he currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader.

Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award.
