BZ Vets is proud to present and award our annual Community Service Scholarship to recognize selected high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional citizenship through community service and volunteerism.
-Award amount: $1,000-$2,000 per year (depending on funding)
-Number of recipient: 1 to 2 per year
-Purpose: To encourage and support students who have made a meaningful impact through volunteer work and community service.
-Must be a high school senior (Conant High School or Rindge resident attending another school).
-Have volunteered extensively in the community (e.g., local organizations, conservation efforts, youth mentorship, veteran support, etc.)
-Plan to attend college, university, trade school, or military service.
Students wishing to be considered for this scholarship shall submit a 500 word essay outlining the following:
-Your community service and volunteer efforts (provide references)
-Current school and grade point average
-Your post high school plans (college, military, career fields, etc.)
-How your volunteer work has shaped your understanding of service, and
-How you plan to continue giving back in the future.
Applications submitted on behalf of an eligible nominee will be considered.
-Applications will be reviewed by a small committee and winner(s) announced at a date and time to be determined.
For 2025, BZ Vets will begin accepting applications on 1 March through 30 April.
Beginning in 2026, the application window will be open from 1 January to 30 April.
-Winner(s) will be announced and recognized sometime in May or June (prior to graduation) publicly and their story showcased here on our website and social media.
-Funds will be paid directly to the student’s educational institution sometime in July-August so that they are applied before tuition bills are due.
-If entering military service, a check will be made out to the winner.
